Jonathan Gold started out as a proofreader at L.A. Weekly and is now married to its editor, Laurie Ochoa. But that’s hardly his only accomplishment in the field of journalism. Gold was the first food writer to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Criticism and has has won the James Beard Foundation Journalism Award four times. And just for good measure, the author of Counter Intelligence: Where to Eat in the Real Los Angeles has also written about music for Spin, Rolling Stone and Details and was the restaurant critic for Gourmet Magazine.
